最近こんな綺麗な空、見てません。

台風後 / After typhoon

庭の金木犀の花が落ちてしまいました。

よい香りを楽しめるのはほんのひと時でした。

Orange osmanthus flowers are all fallen after typhoon.

フェンネルが実をつけました。

なにげに口に入れてみると、驚きの味。

噛み締めると、甘い香りとミントのような爽やかな味が広がり、

天然の飴を食べているよう。

インド料理レストランで、レジの横においてあるのもフェンネルだそうです。

確かに、お口直しに、ぴったりの味でした。

I just realized the tastiness of fennel seeds. 

Once bitten, sweetness and minty freshness burst in the mouth.

These seeds are usually eaten after Indian meal. 

秋のあれこれ/Fall flowers

 バラの実。花が終わった後摘み取るのを忘れたので、

こんなに沢山なってしまいました。

Rose hip. I forgot to pick after flowers. 

ハンギングの花はいつも北を向いているため、

たまに下ろして太陽にあてます。

そうすると、花の成長が促進したり、花の伸びる方向もまっすぐになります。

I put hanging flowers to face sun light, so that flowers grow to an anterior direction.

金木犀が満開です。窓を開けておくと甘い香りが

家のなかまで入ってきます。

Orange osmanthus, smell sweet when open the window. 

秋の味覚/Autumn Food

間もなく築地を移転してしまう市場。

魚市場として有名です。

I visited Tsukiji market.

This market will be moved to Toyosu in a few years. 

今回はその隣にある、野菜の市場に行きました。

It is famous for seafood, but today, we mainly visited vegetables/fruits section.

 お目当てはキノコ。

岩手産の松茸が所狭しと並んでいました。

Matsutake mushroom. This mushroom is wild and rare, 

but the scent is distinctive and considered to be one of the representatives of autumn food. 

So they are extremely expensive.  

左の一番大きなものは、傘の開いた松茸です。

関西では香りがよいとのことで人気ですが、

関東ではやはり、傘の開いていないものがおなじみですね。

その他、天然舞茸、さくらしめじ、くりたけ、こうたけ

など、スーパーに中々並ばないものを購入しました。

キノコ鍋や、天ぷら、松茸ご飯を作りました。

We have bought varieties of mushrooms and

made soup(nabe), tempura, and mushroom rice. 

もうひとつの大好物。銀杏を塩で煎ったもの。

市場では殻が剥かれたものが箱で売っているので、

楽をして、思う存分楽しめます。

独特の臭い匂いも全くありません。

Another my biggest favorite. Roasted gingko nuts. 

They awfully smell bad when they fell from trees, 

but this one doesn't as it is sold without shell.

沢山、秋の味覚を楽しみました。

I have enjoyed much of "Autumn" cuisine. 

虹/Rainbow

雨の後に現れた虹。端のほうだけど、とても綺麗。

１０分も経たないうちに消えてしまいました。

Rainbow appeared. That was a reward for the day. 

連日の涼しさと雨で、植物の発色も良くなってきました。

The plants look healthier and brighter after cooler weather these days. 

秋のビオラアレンジメント/ Autumn arrangement with Viola

１０月も近づき、園芸店に行くと、ビオラが沢山。

早速茶系のビオラで、秋らしいハンギングをいくつか作りました。

Flower shops start to sell first violas for this fall/winter. 

I chose brown flowers and made some hanging basket. 

「アンティークカラー」という色がとてもクラシックできれい。

マンゴーアンティーク、アプリコットアンティークなど、

繊細な色の違いがあります。

I was attracted to "the antique colors."  It is very classy. 

There are "mango antique,"  "apricot antique," and several antique colors.   

こちらはビオラが足りなくなったので、急遽

オレンジコスモスや、シクラメンを加えました。

This hanging is made with viola, cyclamen and orange cosmos.

週末だけの植物園/Plant farm that opens only weekends

ずっと行きたいと思っていた、川崎のSOLSO FARMに行ってきました。

Visited "Solso Farm" in Kawasaki that I wanted to visit long time.

週末だけオープンしている植物専門店です。

This farm opens only weekends.

植物や、小物のセレクションが絶妙で、

かなりセンスのいいものが揃えられています。

Their plants and accessories are so stylish and amazing!

お店は小高い丘にあって、外のスペースも

とても気持ちいい場所でした。

植物の見せ方、配置の仕方、全体的な世界観のつくりかた、

とても勉強になります。プロってすごい！

The farm is located in the hill,  has small cafe and backyard

which is beautifully decorated.

　

沢山楽しめました。
